IPL skin rejuvenation and anti-aging
Treatment series are short and recovery is quick. Just one treatment session can fade years from your face.
IPL (photo skin rejuvenation) treatment restores youthful elasticity to the skin in a simple and effective way. The effect of light reaches deep into the skin layer, the dermis.
By stimulating the vascular bed, increased collagen renewal is achieved, resulting in firmer and more flexible skin.
- Skin renewal and treatment of pigmentation disorders.
- Treatment of couperose and facial telangiectasia.
- Treatment of sun damage.
- Treatment of melasma.
- Skin tightening (e.g., face, neck, décolletage).
- Treatment of acne scars and rosacea.
- Skin rejuvenation.
Vascular changes
When treating vascular lesions, the laser produces a powerful light flash that causes the blood in the vessel to clot, ultimately causing the vessel to disappear from view. The treatment redirects blood flow to deeper vessels. Suitable for treating small facial telangiectasias. Also, strawberry marks anywhere on the body can be faded, often in just one treatment session. Small facial telangiectasias or spider veins can be treated quickly, without bruising.
Pigmentation
During the treatment, skin pigmentation changes may darken immediately after the procedure, and the skin may experience mild redness. The treated area may also have slight swelling. These symptoms typically last from a few hours to a day. Redness can be concealed with makeup if desired.
The darkened areas may begin to peel and fade approximately a week after the procedure. It's important to protect the skin from the sun during the healing process and afterward to prevent new pigmentation changes.
Melasma, or liver spots, are primarily skin pigmentation changes that occur mainly in women. These spots usually appear as dark patches on the face, often during the peak summer months when exposed to sunlight.
The most common areas affected are the forehead, cheeks, upper lip, nose, and chin.
The main risk factors include exposure to sunlight and female hormones. Melasma often appears during pregnancy or after starting birth control pills. Excessive production of pigment by melanocytes causes the color change. Melasma can be treated, but successful treatment requires strict sun protection starting early in the spring.
For collagen renewal, it is recommended to undergo 2-3 treatment sessions spaced approximately 3-4 weeks apart. The effect on collagen is similar to what is seen after laser resurfacing but without the need for wound healing or post-treatment care. Scientific studies have shown that the skin rejuvenating effect can still be observed five years after a series of IPL treatments.
Before the IPL treatment
self tanning products should not be used for two weeks before the treatment, and the procedure is not administered on tanned skin.
The treatment is not recommended for individuals with a pacemaker or defibrillator, and it is contraindicated during pregnancy.
After the IPL treatment
It is important to protect the treated area from sun exposure for a week following the treatment using protective clothing or high broad-spectrum sunscreen to prevent skin sensitivity, burning, and potential hyperpigmentation.
