IPL skin rejuvenation treatment

Ipl skin rejuvenation treatment removes surface blood vessels and excess pigment.

IPL skin rejuvenation treatment

Treatment cycles are short and recovery is quick. Just one treatment can take years off your face.

IPL (photo skin rejuvenation) treatment restores youthful elasticity to the skin in a simple and effective way. The effect of the light reaches deep into the dermis.

By stimulating the vascular bed, increased collagen regeneration is achieved, resulting in more elastic and supple skin.

  • Skin renewal and treatment of discolouration.
  • Treatment of the superficial veins of the couperosa and face.
  • Treatment of sun damage.
  • Treatment of hepatic ischemia.
  • Skin firming (e.g. face, neck, décolleté).
  • Treatment of acne scars and rosacea.
  • Skin rejuvenation

Surface blood vessels

When treating vascular changes, the laser produces a flash of intense light that causes the blood in the vein to clot, making the blood vessel disappear from view. The treatment redirects blood flow to deeper veins. The treatment is suitable for small hair vessel enlargements on the face. Strawberry moles anywhere on the body can also be faded, often in just one treatment. Small facial capillaries or telangiectasias can be treated quickly, without bruising.

Pigment changes

In the treatment, the skin pigment changes start to darken immediately after the treatment and the skin may become slightly red. There may be some swelling in the treated area. These symptoms usually last from a few hours to one day. If you wish, you can cover the redness with make-up.

The darkened areas will flake off and disappear after about a week. It is important to protect the skin well from the sun during and after the healing process to avoid further pigment changes.

Melasma is a skin pigmentation change that occurs mainly only in women. Liver spots in women usually appear as dark patches on the face and usually occur during the summer months when sunlight levels are at their peak.

The most common sites are the forehead, cheekbones, upper lip, nose and chin.

The main risk factors are sun exposure and female hormones. Liver flaps often appear during pregnancy or after starting birth control pills. Melanocytes in the skin produce too much pigment, causing discolouration. Liver spots can be treated, but successful treatment requires careful sun protection from early spring onwards.

For collagen regeneration, 2-3 treatments are recommended about every 3-4 weeks. The effect on collagen is similar to what is seen after laser abrasion but without the ulceration and aftercare. Scientific studies have shown that the skin rejuvenation effect is still visible five years after the IPL series treatment.

Before IPL skin rejuvenation treatment

During the two-week period, you cannot use any products that may cause browning of the skin, and you should not apply the treatment to tanned skin.

Treatment is not given if the patient has a pacemaker or defibrillator, or during pregnancy.

Skin rejuvenation after IPL treatment

For a week after treatment, it is important to effectively prevent sun exposure with clothing or high broad-spectrum sunscreens to avoid more sensitive skin burning and the possibility of skin pigmentation.
